Silver in the Cotswolds

Who would believe that for over 100 years in the heart of the Cotswolds there has been a silversmiths' workshop producing beautiful, bespoke items and running evening classes for those interested in learning how to handle silver. This small workshop, Harts in Chipping Camden, is steeped in history, the furniture shows signs of great age and usage; the hundreds....yes, I mean hundreds.....of priceless, irreplaceable tools each have their use and are no doubt vital to the craftsmen and women who work there. The visit for a small number of members, led by Bob Harrison, was fascinating on a glorious, sunny day. We were intrigued to learn more about silversmithing in a workshop that now has the fourth generation of the family who created it working there along with others who have served an apprenticeship in years gone by. A very friendly and fascinating day, thank you Bob
