Dorney Court - a gem of a house

A full coach took us to Dorney Court in Buckinghamshire.

First stop was the Pineapple pub 'Famous for its sandwiches'.  They were amazing; with funky name and variety of fillings on fresh bread we were ready for our two hour tour of Dorney Court.

The house is Tudor but the land was originally given to a mate of William the Conqueror.  In due course the house passed to the Palmer family and they have lived here ever since.  It is very much a family home, the pictures are of family members, so is a wonderful stump work hanging in a room said to be haunted but after a skeleton was discovered and given a proper burial it no longer is. This was just a lovely, interesting  but not intimidating home and our three guides were the best.

In the church by the house Carol and Michael Middleton were married.

There is also a Garden Centre and cafe.
